Photo Album » Our Photo Album comes with either black or warm white pages. The inside of the album contains 24 sheets of Rising Stonehenge, a heavy-weight, acid free, cotton-rag paper with a leading deckle edge. One of the world’s most sought-after art papers, Rising Stonehenge is a true 100% cotton fiber, neutral ph (acid-free) paper. Although this versatile paper is machine made, it has the classic elegance of old world mould-made papers with a deckled edge and an antique vellum finish.

The album is available in two sizes: A generous 19 by 28 centimeters (7.5 by 11 inches); and an impressive 38 by 28 centimeters (15 by 11 inches). The album is covered in our finest, superior-grade handmade paper, and, where appropriate, tastefully finished with a simple ribbon tie to hold it closed. Because of the ability of the Coptic binding to open flat, the 24 sheets give 48 usable pages enabling you to mount your photos both left and right. A truly special book, in which to keep and cherish truly special memories

Sketch Book » "You learn to draw because drawing makes you look. You may do a very bad drawing, but if you try to draw something, you look much more intensely than if you just look. And this is its value. I would make drawing a part of general education for everybody." ~Henry Moore

Originally designed as a special request from a New Zealand artist, this book contains over a hundred pages designed to be used for artists’ projects. Finely textured and deckle edged, the paper has 15% cotton rag content and 85% pure alpha cellulose, acid free pulp. It comes from one of the only mills in North America that still makes its own “rag” pulp from cotton rags – and the mill that manufactures Canadian banknote paper. The paper is perfect for sketching, drawing, charcoals, pastels or calligraphy, and is sized for a light-wash watercolour.  An expanded version of the above quote is mounted on the first page. A unique book in which an artist or anyone can keep those special drawings.

Available only in Coptic binding, as that enables it to be opened flat for drawing as Sketch Regular, Sketch Large and Sketch Extra Large sizes. These sizes are slightly larger than our regular books, due to the special nature and size of the paper.

Guest Book » A favourite for weddings, small bed and breakfast inns, or for anyone who likes to keep track of special visitors – names, comments, addresses or whatever you’d like your guests to leave. Our standard guestbook has lined pages with a rose vine motif lightly printed under the lines on each page, but it can be easily modified, at no charge, to contain what you would like. For instance, we have an intertwined hearts motif that we often exchange for the rose vine when our book is used for weddings. Likewise, the first page has the word “Guests” as standard, but that is often changed to the couple’s name and the date for weddings, or the name of the establishment for a business.

Available only in Coptic (so it can lie open flat on a table) in Regular and Large. Both sizes are done in landscape aspect, so the pages are wider than they are long. We can also do a special, personalized guestbook in a larger size with beautiful decal-edged pages. Contact us for more details if you are interested in this.

Alice Inside Retouched.jpg

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland » In 1865, Lewis Carroll (the nom de plume of the Reverend Charles Dodgson)  published Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. It was a longer version of Alice’s Adventures Underground, a story he had created on the spur of the moment for 10 year old Alice Liddell while rowing on the river on a lazy afternoon in 1862. Some two years later, he hand-wrote and hand-illustrated a version to give to Alice as a Christmas present. The final version, the one with which we are most familiar today, was published nearly three years after that, complete with 42 illustrations by prolific English illustrator and satirical artist Sir John Tenniel.

Our Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is a recreation of that original 1865 edition, complete with all 42 of Tenniel’s drawings, including 10 full-page plates. It is printed in the classic Goudy Old Style typeface on Linen Natural, acid and lignin-free, 50% recycled high quality paper; the buckram faux-goatskin version has the title hot-foil stamped in gold on the cover.

Both versions are hardcover: One finished in a soft and tactile hand-made paper, one in the elegant and traditional gold-stamped buckram. Either one is destined to become a treasured keepsake and family heirloom.

!!NEW!! Now available in Rustic as well as Coptic binding for a more affordable choice, and in a very special Miniature size - 5.5 centimetres by 2.25 centimetres (4.12 inches by 1.38 inches). The miniature comes in Coptic only.

Sonnets Retouched.jpg

Shakespeare's Sonnets » Some of William Shakespeare’s better known quotations and phrases, such as “Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day”, come not from his plays but from his sonnets. While Shakespeare inserted sonnets into several of his plays, when we speak of "Shakespeare's Sonnets" we generally mean a group of 154 poems that were first published together under the title of Shakespeare's Sonnets in 1609. The theme of love and infidelity is dominant in the poems; often this theme is interwoven with motifs of beauty, immortality, and the ravages of time. Add in lyrical speculations about poetry's power to maintain bonds of love and to immortalize the beloved and you can see why they are often considered to be some of the history’s greatest love poems.

Our handbound edition contains the full text of all 154 sonnets, as well as the Droeshout portrait and the text of the Ode to Shakespeare found in the First Folio,  making it ideal for collectors, lovers or just those who want to own a very special edition of some of the world’s best classical poetry.

Available in Coptic and Rustic, in Mini and Regular sizes.!!NEW!! Now available in a very special Miniature size - 5.5 centimetres by 2.25 centimetres (4.12 inches by 1.38 inches). The miniature comes in Coptic only
