Located
in
Metchosin, Parry Bay Sheep Farm is nestled on the southwestern tip of
Vancouver Island, overlooking the Straits of Juan de Fuca. I am blessed
to be located in a truly picturesque part of the world, surrounded by
breath-taking scenery in which to train and enjoy my dogs. Here are a
few of my favorite places!

One of
the largest fields in the area, this field can accommodate 500 yard
outruns, and affords a wonderful view of the Olympic mountain range, 30
miles across the straits in Washington, USA.
This field hosts the annual Metchosin
Sheep Dog Trial every July, and overlooks Taylor beach and the Straits
beyond. Ocean breezes keep the fields cool and pleasant, even in
mid-summer. The sheep for the Open class are set between and below
these two old Garry oak trees. Found nowhere else in Canada, Garry oaks
are unique to south western Vancouver Island, and grace many of the
fields of Metchosin.
These two
home pastures are close to the house and sheltered from the prevailing
westerly winds, and are favorites of the the ewes in early spring when
they have new lambs at their sides.
