Since 2001, I have been working as a heritage professional. My principal work has involved the research for, and preparation of, Statements of Significance for heritage properties in the province of BC for public and private clients. Ialso write extensively on heritage subjects and genealogy.

I am the the newly-elected British Columbia Governor on the Heritage Canada Foundation Board of Governors. At the provincial level, I have served on the Board of Heritage BC for 8 years and the Heritage Legacy Fund for 5 years.

In the fall of 2007, I made a presentation entitled “Neighbourhoods Under Threat” at the Heritage Canada Foundation’s annual conference in Edmonton, Alberta and presented a paper on Working as a Heritage Professional at the 2008 conference in Quebec City. I am a member of the Educators’ Roundtable and am now a member of the National Council.

Does your group need a guest speaker on heritage preservation, historic architecture, or any related field? I can provide a number of lectures on different topics, or can develop a customized slide show to suit your needs. I have lectured at ElderHostel and at a variety of conferences.
