To help promote the Fernwood Art Stroll a group of Fernwood artists, led by Deryk Houston decided to create banners to hang from the telephone poles in the area from Vic High to Pembroke St., and branching out to a couple of Gladstone Ave. locations.
Susie Jones stepped in and did a lot of work on the layout of the banners, and the Fernwood Community Association's Tony Sprackett helped to facilitate City support and funding to get the banners hung.
In May of 2008, 30 banners were hung on 15 poles in Fernwood. The banner art and a little info about the creator are below, for your reference.

A long-awaited event! The Fernwood Art Stroll is happening the weekend of June 21-22, 2008 11a.m. - 4 p.m.
Painters, photographers, storytellers, sculptors, dancers, fibre artists, potters, puppeteers etc. will show, share and sell their work. You can download the brochure (PDF) with a description of artists and map of the studios.
